OpenTrack is working hard to improve your visibility in the final mile, including fully-managed integrations with your drayage carriers to finally get your data all in one place.

ETA Changes and Rolled Cargo

Through our data properties ETA at Terminal (API: etaAtTerminal) and ETA at Final Rail Facility (API: etaAtDestination), you get the most trusted ETA whatever the destination.

Get notified of ETA changes (webhook event container.itinerary.updated) or when we detect a possible rolled cargo incident on our Dashboard.

πŸ’‘ Did you know? We flag Possible Rolled Cargo Incidents whenever the ETA and Mother Vessel change at the same time, indicating that the cargo has been rolled.

Vessel Berthed / Arrived At Rail Facility

For ocean vessels you get the real Vessel Berthed date (history milestone), not just the arrival at anchorage.

For rail moves, see when it's Arrived at Rail Facility (history milestone) so you can better plan pickup capacity and beyond.

Discharged / Unloaded From Rail

Get notified immediately when your container is Discharged (history milestone) or Unloaded From Rail (history milestone).

Available

It's important to know when your container becomes Available (history milestone) or Available at Rail Facility (history milestone). OpenTrack tells you right away.

Last Free Day

Knowing the accurate Last Free Day is key to avoiding costly delays and demurrage charges.

If the container moves on rail (API: "isRailMove":"true") then OpenTrack provides the Last Free Day (Rail) (API: railLastFreeDay).

If the container is not moving on rail, OpenTrack provides the Last Free Day (Port) (API: lastFreeDay).

Holds

With OpenTrack, it's easy to get notified of any holds early to avoid delays and costly fees.

See an actionable holds summary on each container by type of hold, its code, and its report date. Once it's resolved, you'll see a resolved date as well. (API: holds object)

Demurrage

Any time the terminal reports demurrage on a container, we report it to you. In the app you'll find a summary of when it was reported, the amount currently owed, the total amount incurred, as well as a resolved date if applicable.

In the API, demurrage data appears in these properties:

  • demurrageOwedAtPort (port demurrage currently owed)

  • demurrageIncurred (total port demurrage incurred over time, including already paid)

  • demurrageOwedAtRailStation (rail demurrage currently owed)

  • demurrageIncurredAtRailStation (total rail demurrage incurred over time, including already paid)

Carrier and Customs Release

Monitor the path to availability. See the Carrier Release Date (API: carrierReleasedDate) and Customs Release Date (API: customsReleasedDate) on your containers.

Full Outgated

Be aware of when containers are outgated from the port, rail station, or off-dock facility with our targeted milestones:

  • Full Outgated (history milestone)

  • Full Outgated From Rail Facility (history milestone)

  • Full Outgated From Off-Dock Facility (history milestone)

This data is crucial to help understand which containers need to be returned and to help avoid costly per diem charges.

Off-Dock Milestones

OpenTrack helps you avoid the costly surprise of a container becoming available at a distant off-dock facility instead of the main terminal.

Planned / Estimated Delivery

Project incoming capacity at your facilities with more precision and understand how carriers are performing using OpenTrack's Delivery Appointment Date (API: deliveryAppointmentDate) and Estimated Delivery Date (API: estimatedDeliveryDate).

Manage delivery appointments by setting and communicating the Delivery Appointment Status (custom field).

Actual Delivered

The Delivered date (history milestone) is crucial for understanding where your freight is in the final mile supply chain.

Receiving Facilities

Match each container to a receiving facility to clarify capacity planning and hit deadlines more consistently.

Empty Notification

Through the Empty Ready For Pickup date (history milestone), you can automate empty notifications to truckers, save time on dispatching, and make facility operations more efficient.

Empty Picked Up For Return

Track and communicate when empty containers have been picked up on their way to be terminated using the Empty Picked Up For Return date (history milestone).

Trucker Yard Milestones

For high-value or urgent cargo, it pays to know where and when containers are sitting in third-party yards. That's why OpenTrack provides the following history milestones:

  • Full Dropped Off At Trucker Yard

  • Full Picked Up From Trucker Yard

  • Empty Dropped Off At Trucker Yard

  • Empty Picked Up From Trucker Yard

Empty Returned

Container termination is a key milestone on the container's journey. Ensure each file is closed out by keeping track of the Empty Returned date (history milestone).
