This guide will show you how to create an Explore report and email notification that tells you which containers you expect to outgate in the next day, but which haven't yet outgated.
Here are the steps:
Enable the Expected Full Outgated Date custom field and add data for it.
Set up your Explore report to filter down to just the right containers.
Let's dive in!
1. Enable the Expected Full Outgated Date custom field and add data for it
First, you'll need to make sure you have the custom field Expected Full Outgated Date activated in your OpenTrack account.
To do that, go to Settings, then click Additional Fields. Check the box next to Expected Outgated Date.
Now you can add this date to your containers.
For newly tracked containers, you can do this by including a new column, with title expectedFullOutgatedDate
, in your tracking file uploads. Here's more on how to add additional fields via bulk upload.
Or you can click on any container, go to the Additional Details tab, and edit the value there. Just click the value to edit it. (Don't forget to save!)
Once you've added an Expected Full Outgated Date to some of your containers, you can move on to the next step.
2. Set up your Explore report to filter down to just the right containers
Now head over to the Explore page. You're going to create a report with two filters:
Expected Full Outgated Date = Next day
Status = DISCHARGED or AVAILABLE
This will show you all containers currently in DISCHARGED or AVAILABLE status, with an Expected Full Outgated Date within the next day.
You can then save this report, set up email notifications for it, and change the columns and column order.
Here's how to do it step-by-step:
First, click the Filter button and select the first filter, Expected Full Outgate Date, from the dropdown.
Next click the Value dropdown and select Next day.
Now click Add Filter.
In the first dropdown of your new filter, select Status.
Now select DISCHARGED and AVAILABLE as the values.
There you have it! You're now looking at containers which you expect to outgate in the next day, but which haven't outgated yet.
