In this article, we're going to walk through how to use the Explore page to create a live report inside OpenTrack that shows shipments for a specific customer or multiple customers.
You may have noticed this Customer filter in the Explore page:
If you have added a Customer for one or more of your containers in OpenTrack, then you can use this filter right now!
This filter's options will automatically populate from the containers in your account. Feel free to select one or multiple options.
If you haven't yet added a Customer to any of your containers, you can add it as an Additional Field in OpenTrack. Here's how to activate the Customer field in OpenTrack.
Not sure if you have additional fields activated? You can find out quickly. Here's how:
On the left, go to Settings
โThen click Additional Fields. That's where you can view or change the additional fields enabled in your team's OpenTrack account.
Without further ado, let's jump in and create a customer-specific report in OpenTrack.
How to create a customer-specific report in OpenTrack
To create this report, you need to take two steps:
Add data to the Customer field on your shipments in OpenTrack
Create the customer-specific report on the Explore page
Step 1: Add data to the "Customer" field
If you haven't already, you can learn how to add data to the Customer field by following the instructions in this help guide.
Once you've added the "Customer" field for a shipment, you'll see it when you click on that container and scroll down to the Additional Details section.
Step 2: Create the report on the Explore page
Now let's create the report. Navigate to the Explore page and click Create New on the top left of the page:
Click the Filter button, select Customer in the first dropdown.
Then select one or more customers from the second dropdown.
You'll notice that the results automatically show only the containers for that customer.
Don't forget that you can also change which columns show, in what order.
Now let's save this report so it's easy to access later. Click the pencil icon, then type a new report title.
Be sure to click Save.
Now your newly saved report can be accessed any time in the sidebar, right here at the top of My Reports.
Click on this any time to access your new report.
Congratulations! You've just created your first live customer-specific report in OpenTrack.
