When you set up your CargoWise-OpenTrack integration, your goal is to 1) have containers added to CargoWise automatically track in OpenTrack, then 2) receive tracking updates on those containers from OpenTrack back in CargoWise.
When that's not happening, it can be really frustrating. Here's a common reason why containers may not be tracking in OpenTrack.
The container didn't have an MBL yet
The top reason why containers from CargoWise don't track in OpenTrack is that many integrations have a specific requirement in order to trigger tracking.
β Your integration may require that the container already have a Master Bill of Lading at the moment it's created in CargoWise. If it doesn't, your CargoWise workflow template won't send the container to OpenTrack.
π Check the event logs: If the Master Bill was added after the container was created in CargoWise, then it's likely that's the reason it didn't track in OpenTrack.
π The simple solution is just to manually re-trigger the CargoWise workflow template that sends containers to OpenTrack. If you're not sure how to do that, ask your company's CargoWise guru.
π The long-term, automated solution is to add a new workflow template to the Consol that watches the Master Bill field to see if it's edited. If it is, it will automatically re-trigger the workflow template and send any matching containers to OpenTrack for tracking. This is something your friendly neighborhood CargoWise consultant can help with (ask us for recs if needed π€ ).
